Visualisation of topographic data using video animation

چکیده
A wide range of software tools have been developed for visualising three-dimensional range data of topographic surfaces. Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), derived from photogrammetric measurements and from digitised contour maps are here used for illustration. To increase our understanding of the information content in DEMs in isolation or in combination with remotelysensed images and to facilitate the quality assesment of automated terrain extraction techniques a number of tools have been developed for displaying perspective views of time sequences of landscapes with a variety of different surface shading models. We consider a variety of shading models from the texture mapping of a satellite image over a DEM to attempts to represent different surface reflectances. The texture mapping problem integrates both single band (monochromatic) and multispectral (false colour of original or colourspace transformed) satellite images. Artificial shading models from simple Lambertian shading to the ray-tracing of terrains, using Bi-directional Reflectance Distribution Functions are presented.

Visualising and Clustering Video Data
We review a new form of self-organizing map which is based on a nonlinear projection of latent points into data space, identical to that performed in the Generative Topographic Mapping (GTM) [1]. But whereas the GTM is an extension of a mixture of experts, this model is an extension of a product of experts [6]. We show visualisation and clustering results on a data set composed of video data of...

Visualisation is compelling because of it has multidimensionality of presentation, data integration, and use. It facilitates understanding and analysis of complex data through opening up the visual perceptive channel as well as relying on the more standard forms of information location, assimilation and insight. The use of visualisation techniques to aid those who work with systems and software...

Software visualisation consists of applying various multimedia techniques for significant improvement of human understanding of computer software. If the subject of such visualisation is an algorithm, and computer generated animation is essential for its realisation, we say of algorithm animation. Successful algorithm visualisations usually go beyond isomorphic mappings of program data or code ...

Introduction: A disaster evacuation program is one of the most important parts of hospital crisis management. The following study was carried out to determine the effects of animation-based teaching on hemodialysis patients’ performance in an emergency evacuation. Material and Method: In this quasi-experimental study, two out of four AJA Hospitals in Tehran that had hemodialysis wards, were sel...
متن کاملDisseminating Large-scale Semantic 3d Landscape Models Using Open Visualisation Platforms
European mapping institutions recently started creating three-dimensional (3D) topographic datasets to satisfy modern application demands. The resulting datasize creates new challenges for managing, disseminating and visualising topographic surface models interactively. Moreover, open, publicly-available, free-of-charge software is desirable for data dissemination, so that the general public ca...
